New triumph of the Latvians on CEV Challenger

CEV Challenger, one of the most prestigious European tournaments in beach volleyball was finished in Novi Sad today. Title of the Champions of CEV Challenger tournament and the best among beach volleyball players, went to tandem Toms Smedins and Artis Caics from Latvia, the last year’s winner of the this tournament in Novi Sad. They won the gold trophy, medals and EUR 1’920 money prize, defeating Alen Pajenk and Nejc Zemljak from Slovenia in the final match, with a result 2:1 (16:21, 21:19, 16:14). Great Slovenians that enter the finals through qualification while winning over 7 top-seeded teams received silver and EUR 1’560 money prize. Bronze trophy, medals and EUR 1’200 premium were awarded to team Kaczmarek/Schneider from Germany.

The organizers of the tournament, Vip mobile and Volleyball Federation of Serbia are credited for great four-day sports spectacle, where the best European volleyball players participated. From July 21st -25th at Strand, they showed excellent skills in an exciting battle for valuable money prizes and points at the CEV and FIVB rank lists. During the tournament, 57 teams from 25 countries competed for the title of the best and EUR 12’000 total money prize fund: Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Serbia, Switzerland, Slovakia, Sweden, Turkey and Ukraine.

Audience in Novi Sad ready for tomorrow’s semi-finals

CEV Challenger, Beach Volleyball tournament of the European Volleyball Federation organized by Vip mobile and the Volleyball Federation of Serbia gathered this week in Novi Sad the best beach volleyball players of old continent. Starting from Wednesday, July 21st, even 57 teams from 25 counties compete for points, ranking at CEV and FIVB lists and valuable prize money. After three days of exciting matches at the Strand beach, tomorrow’s semi-final and final matches will decide on winners of this year’s tournament.

Friday, the first day of the main tourmanent was marked with extremely high temperatures that exhausted players and made matches very difficult. At one point, the sand temperature on the court rose up to 50°C, causing 7 medical time-outs and 3 forfeits. After three played matches, Serbian team Basta/Nikolic did not manage to pass to the next round as they won once, but were beaten twice. Together with seven other teams, they were left out of the competition.

Qualification matches in the second CEV Challenger tournament in Novi Sad start today

The CEV Challenger, one of the most prestigious tournaments of the European Volleyball Confederation in beach volleyball for seniors, started in Novi Sad yesterday, in organization of Vip mobile and Volleyball Federation of Serbia. Until Sunday, July 25th, Novi Sad will be a gathering place of the top European beach volleyball players who will compete for victory and points on the CEV and FIVB lists on the sandy courts of the Strand beach.

Yesterday, six domestic teams competed to enter qualifications through the state quota: Galesev –Simeunovic against Tatic – Radic (2:0), Ivankovic – Mladenovic against Acic –Maric (2:1), Antonic - Galetin against Galesev – Simeunovic (2:0) and Ivankovic – Mladenovic against against Stanojcic - Markovic (2:1). Two teams that finally passed the Qualification Tournament are Antonic - Galetin and Ivankovic –Mladenovic. Both matches starring the duo Ivankovic - Mladenovic were unpredictable until the end and lasted 3 sets each which proved very strong competitiveness among local participants of the tournament.

CEV Challenger one more time in Novi Sad

Next week and for the second year in a row, the Volleyball Federation of Serbia and Vip mobile will organize prestigious beach volleyball tournament of the European Volleyball Confederation - CEV Challenger.

From July 21st to 25th, Novi Sad will gather one more time the best beach volleyball players of our continent, who will have the opportunity to compete for points at CEV and FIVB rankings and valuable prize money. For the second time now, Serbia has the honour to host participants of this tournament owing to very successfully organized CEV Challenger last year as well as the Balkan Championship in beach volleyball held in 2008 and series of traditional Vip Beach Masters tournaments of National Championships organized in Serbia.

At this year’s CEV Challenger tournament, 64 teams from 25 countries will compete for the title of the best: Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Serbia, Switzerland, Slovakia, Sweden, Turkey and Ukraine. Direct participation in the Main Draw was secured by 16 teams, including two local teams and one team that will enter based on wild card, while 32 teams will compete for 8 remaining positions through qualification matches. This year as well, Vip mobile provided EUR 12.000 prize fund intended for the 24 teams that qualify for the Main Draw.

Top beach volleyball in the finals of Vip Beach Masters in Kragujevac

The first tournament of this year’s Vip Beach Masters organized by Vip mobile and the Volleyball Federation of Serbia for the third time in a row, was finalized in a great atmosphere on the sandy ground in front of the Kragujevac City Hall today. The winners of tournament are Srdjan Veckov and Davor Brcic in male competition and guest team Asja Dinova and Svetla Angelova from Bulgaria in female competition, who won the cups and the prize of EUR 1.800 and EUR 1.300 respectively.

Total 46 male and 14 female teams applied for qualifications, while 16 male and 8 female teams entered the main competition. The winners of tournament in a male competition Srdjan Veckov and Davor Brcic were more succesfull than tandem Zarko Kisic and Drago Teodorovic who won the silver medal. The bronze medal went to Goran Marić and Jovan Sajnberger. In the female competition, winning team Asja Dinova and Svetla Angelova from Bulgaria was slightly better than Natasa Borki and Tatjana Burmazovic who won bronze medal in general ranking of Vip Beach Masters 2009. Ivana Isailovic and Jelena Blagojevic, last year’s national champions of Serbia won the third place. All participants received great support from Kragujevac spectators that filled stands of Vip Beach Masters despite occasional rainy showers.

Great start of Vip Beach Masters in Kragujevac

The first tournament of this year’s Vip Beach Masters organized by Vip mobile and the Volleyball Federation of Serbia for the third time in a row, started at the beach volleyball court in front of the Kragujevac City hall today. Tournament lasts the whole day and will be continued on Saturday, June 19 th and Sunday, June 20 th when the semi-final and final matches of male and female competition will be played. Kragujevac tournament raised great interest of participants with 46 male and 14 female teams that applied for qualifications. The best 16 male and 8 female teams will compete for the prize fund of EUR 11.500.
 
The entrance for all matches is free and people of Kragujevac will have the opportunity to enjoy  great atmosphere and exciting games of Vip Beach Masters for the first time. The audience showed great interest on the very first day and the stadium was crowded with beach volleyball fans who gave support to the players on the court. This weekend, Kragujevac will be the main spot of the top beach volleyball and great entertainment provided by cheerleaders, DJ and the well known tandem of MTV Adria TV presenter, Galeb Nikacevic and famous Brazilian animator Marcelo.

Serbian championship in beach volley this summer in Kragujevac, Nis and Novi Sad

Vip mobile and Volleyball Federation of Serbia announced today the launch of Vip Beach Masters 2010 - Serbian championship in beach volleyball, the third professional championship, which will be organized in Kragujevac, Nis and Novi Sad during the summer. The importance of Vip Beach Masters tournament for the development and promotion of beach volleyball in Serbia was also recognized by the Ministry of Youth and Sport, who is the patron of this year’s project.

Promotion of the new season was opened on the court of Goga Yachting Club with the exhibition match between professional players and popular TV presenters, who created a great atmosphere and announced good fun at the tournaments. The team consisting of Stefan Basta, winner of silver medal at the Balkan championship for players up to 23 years and TV presenter Marija Kilibarda played against Ivana Isailović, winner of the National Championship 2009 and Ivan Ivanović, host of TV show "Cash taxi", showing their volleyball skills and competitive spirit.
