Beach volley’s kings and queens will be decided next weekend at Novi Sad’s beach "Strand’"

After Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis, the last one in a series of Vip Beach Masters tournament in the organization of Vip mobile and Volleyball Federation of Serbia, is starting next weekend at Novi Sad’s beach ‘Strand’. The tournament will last from Friday, 28th August,throughout Sunday, 30th August, when semi final and final matches are scheduled in men’s and women’s competition.

The finals promise an exciting and fierce competition, as. a sport contest for the prestigious Serbian championship title that will go to the best teams in the general ranking for all three tournaments of this year’s Vip Beach Masters series. The Novi Sad tournament male winners will receive EUR 1,800 cheques, and female winners will be awarded with EUR 1,300, from the total prize fund of EUR 11,500.

This year's favourites for the championship title in the men's competition are the Belgrade tournament winners and the second-ranked at the tournament in Nis, Milutin Ivanković and Bojan Mladenovic from Veliko Gradiste. In the women's competition, the situation is somewhat indecisive, as the championship title will be decided between Nataša Borki and Tatjana Burmazović, Belgrade tournament winners, and Ivana Isailović and Jelena Blagojevic, winners of the Nis tournament.

Many teams who participate at Vip Beach Masters have also been very successful at international beach volleyball competitions. The team Stefan Basta and Igor Tešić has been improving its ranking lately. They have won a silver medal at the Balkan Championship in the under 23 years category and the 7th place at the European championship in the same category, so they are expected to play well in the Vip Beach Masters finals.

In the middle of July, Novi Sad’s audience have already proved to be excellent hosts and great fans of beach volley, which was testified by a hot atmosphere at the CEV Challenger, the European volleyball confederation tournament which gathered 31 best beach volley teams from 17 countries. The final match gathered more than 2000 passionate fans in the stands and in the VIP lounge, thus a strong support to the favourites is expected this time as well.
