This summer, Serbian championship in beach volleyball in Belgrade, Nis and Novi Sad

Vip mobile and Volleyball federation of Serbia announced today the launch of this year’s Vip Beach Masters tournament, professional Serbian championship in beach volleyball, which will be organized in three cities, during summer. The first in a series is tournament in Belgrade, which will be held at Ada Ciganlija lake, from June 19th – 21st, followed by competitions in August in Nis (7.-9.) and Novi Sad (28.-30.) where Finals of the National championship in beach volleyball will be held. During the tournaments, 16 male and 8 female teams that qualified for the competition will struggle for the title of Serbian Champion in beach volleyball.

This year, Serbia became important point at the European volleyball map, applying for the organization of one of the six official Satellite European tournaments, under the patronage of CEV (European Volleyball Confederation). Considering our application, CEV decided to entrust us with the organization of even more important European competition – CEV Challenger. Thus, from July 16th-19th, Novi Sad will be a host of this prestigious European tournament, which brings together best beach volley players in Europe. It is also possible that some of the best world’s player participate as well, thanks to 4 Wild cards offered by organizer. Points obtained at CEV Challenger tournament count in the ranking of European Volleyball Confederation and the World Volleyball Federation.

Total prize fund is EUR 46.500 (EUR 11.500 per three National championship tournaments and EUR 12.000 for the Challenger).


The fact that we will be a host of such a prestigious European tournament for the first time has bring prominent guests in Belgrade: Jan Hronek, Vice-President of European Volleyball Confederation, Carlo Magri, President of Volleyball federation of Italy and Agostino Pantani, advisor of Volleyball federation of Italy. On behalf of honorable delegation, Mr. Hronek expressed his gratification because Serbia has found itself amongst the hosts of the most important European competitions, only one year after its first National championship: ‘’This is very prestigious tournament, and the high quality of beach volleyball in Serbia indicates that the tournament will be organized at top level. This is great honor for the country known for good volleyball, great success of the organizers and one more challenge for all players.’’

Within promotion of the new beach volley season, exhibition match was organized with professional players and celebrities, fans of beach volley: Natasa Borki, Balkan champion in beach volley and actor Dragan Micanovic at one side of the net, and a pop singer Ana Stanic and professional player Davor Brcic, at the other side of it. Teams showed excellent volleyball skills, but also created amusing atmosphere, characteristic for this sport.
