Serbian Beach Volleyball Championship, organized for the sixth consecutive year by Vip mobile and the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, concludes with the final Vip Beach Masters tournament at Belgrade’s Ada Ciganlija, from 28th to 31st of August. After successful tournaments held in as many as nine cities in Serbia, the battle continues at the final tournament in Belgrade, where our best male and female volleyball players will compete for the title of Champion and monetary prizes from the total fund of EUR 25,000, provided by Vip mobile. In addition to fantastic matches, visitors will also have an opportunity to enjoy all-day entertainment programs, and admission will be free for the duration of the tournament.

The tournament at Ada Ciganlija starts with qualification matches on Wednesday, August 28th, while competition in the main draw is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, August 29th and 30th. The semi-final and final matches will take place on the last day of the tournament, Saturday, August 31st from 10 to 17h, when we will find out who are the new male and female beach volleyball champions of Serbia. The Final Vip Beach Masters is the crown of Serbia’s biggest beach volleyball tournament to date, which included tournaments in as many as ten cities across Serbia. The extremely successful beach volleyball season was also marked by two international competitions under the auspices of the European Volleyball Confederation, CEV –European Beach Volleyball Championship – Masters Novi Sad 2013 and CEV Youth Continental Cup for boys – qualifications for Youth Olympic Games.

Twenty female and forty-one male teams have applied to participate in the Belgrade tournament. The highest-ranked male team is comprised of Damjan Pušonjić and Srđan Medan with 504 points, followed by Miljan Kiković and Marko Nikolić (480 points). The third-ranked team in the overall standings, Siniša Antonić and Marko Galešev (384 points), are highly motivated for the Belgrade tournament, after winning the Balkans Championships held last weekend in the Turkish city of Sakarya. In the women’s competition, the strongest candidates for the champion’s title are Nataša Ševarika and Nina Škarić with 504 points, followed by the second-ranked Gorana Mrđan and Teodora Trifunović with 432 points, while the third position with 360 points is held by Milena and Vanja Matić.

The Vip Beach Masters school of volleyball, ran for the third year in a row by the legendary Serbian volleyball player Vanja Grbić, starts this Wednesday as well. The school is completely free of charge and it is intended for children up to 14 years of age. This year, the children will be able to take volleyball lessons in as many as six sessions, on Wednesday, August 28th between 16:30 and 17:30, on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th of August, from 10 to 11h and from 16:30 to 17:30, while on Saturday, August 31st, Vanja Grbić will spend time with the kids between 15 and 16h. For the first time this year, the four-day Kids Beach Volley Camp will be organized in Belgrade as well, for forty boys and girls from 10 cities who have demonstrated the best knowledge of beach volleyball in previous tournaments.

This significant sporting event has been supported by ZTE, Opel, Hypo Alpe Adria, Clipsy, Aqua Viva, DaCapo, Ada Ciganlija as well as the cities where tournaments have been held, while Wiener Städtische provided insurance for the entire tournament.
